Where To Begin

Getting Started:

If this is your first time visiting this site, I would suggest that you take a look at the Accessing The Lessons section to learn more about how to access our lessons.

Beginning to learn how to sing can be challenging. Even if you already have a naturally soothing voice or have had lessons in the past, coming back to the regular vocal training can be both fun and frustrating.

Know that you are not alone. There are thousands of other singers in the same situation as you. In fact, one of the most common questions I receive is "You have so many voice lessons…where do I start?"

First of all, I want you to know that I am here for you. I have designed this website to be as much as a mentor to you as if you were taking private lessons from me. And if you get stuck somewhere along the way, just email me and I will try to help.

Second, I have created some singing lesson bundles that help guide you along a "path". Before I show you the bundles, let's discuss these different paths.

How To Learn To Sing...Paths

One of the main reasons that students get frustrated when learning to sing is they have try to tackle too much at once. Learning to sing properly and actually sound great takes both time and patience.

It is reasonable to see solid improvement within a few weeks as long as you are practicing 4 or more days a week. This doesn't mean you have to practice all day. I always say, 20 minutes of the right exercises every day will give you results like you wouldn't believe. Vocalizing and vocal exercises are only one side of the equation though. The other is the method that you use to learn the material.

I teach in a way that gets students quickly sounding better. However, we also cover a lot of theory...but in a fun and approachable manner. This combination of "fun and work" is why my method makes it easier to learn the how to seeing, even if you have never had forma singing lessons.

Most of all, it is important that you remain patient with yourself!

How To Get The Most Out Of Video Singing Lessons

To fully benefit from video-based singing lessons, I find it helpful to follow these tips:

  • Watch the video lessons in order so you don't miss something important
  • When watching lesson chapters, try to take away only one concept to practice
  • Watch the chapter completely before trying the exercises on your own.
  • Spend at least ONE WEEK on each concept before moving on to another video
  • Don't under or over practice, 20 minutes of focused time every day you will be fine.
  • Download the videos and the audio scales and do them while you are on the go
  • Download the vocal exercise template and take notes of your progress
